We are specialist dealers in Airship memorabilia giving you the chance to "own a piece of aviation history"
We are selling genuine pieces of R.101 Airship outer cover fabric with provenance from the Royal Airship Works at Cardington.
The R.101 was the "Titanic of the skies", it came down in bad weather on its maiden overseas voyage, the gas bags exploded causing 48 out of 54 persons on board to lose their life.
When completed, it was at the time the worlds largest flying craft.
In 1930 it was also the worlds worst airship accident and the disaster ended all British Airship development.
The public inquiry concluded that the airship's forced descent was probably due to tearing of the outer cover fabric causing a sudden heavy gas leakage in the gas bags.
We have been fortunate to obtain a small amount of genuine 2 ply outer cover fabric with provenance that came from the Royal Airship Works at Cardington, Bedfordshire, UK in 1930.
We offer you the chance to buy "a piece of aviation history" with the provenance professionally printed and embossed by those clever people at Hot Metal Press Ltd using light fast permanent ink on a certificate plus a limited edition print of the airship on its mooring mast at Cardington, specially commissioned for us by the artist Phil Kirk.
